The 2013 Sydney Royal Frog & Reptile Show
The timing of Easter this year meant that the show did not span NSW school holidays and reports of small crowds were heard. Someone forgot to tell this to the lucky crowds that flowed through the Frog & Reptile Pavilion. Tuesday saw a constant stream of people, and despite the rain, Wednesday was not far behind.
With all the competition places filled, it was a visual feast for all. The judges reported it as being one of the hardest years to judge, with many near perfect specimens needing to be separated by fractions of a point. The judges did an excellent job, and are to be commended on their final selections of winners.
Thank you to all those who made the effort to show their animals. It is a big ask to get to Homebush by 7.30 in the morning, combatting traffic, security, parking, long walks, & live animals. You guys make the show, for without all the effort you put in to keeping your animals healthy, the show would not be the spectacle it is.
Again, all our fabulous volunteers are to be congratulated on tirelessly helping with the set up & take down, and for being so friendly and informative with the public during the show. I am sure the frog & reptile pavilion has the happiest, most enthusiastic and best looking staff of all the animal shows.
A big thank you to our visiting vet, Robert Johnson of South Penrith Vet Clinic. Not only does Robert ensure all animals are suitable for admission to the show, but he unselfishly remains on hand to answer questions regarding these magnificent creatures.
